Myself
MeHello, my name is Cameron, or Cam for short. Im 15 years old and I run an online YouTube channel called 'JFCMsnakes' to which i have almost 1,000 subscribers! An almost unbelievable accomplishment that would have been beyond my wildest dreams when I first started. As my name suggests I make videos on my 8 snakes, 3 Colubrids, 4 Pythons and a Boa. I'd like to say i know quite a lot on the subject but i don't want to sound big headed. Anyway, i have a lot of fun with my animals and learning about them also. I can really say i have a true passion for them and i wouldn't give them up for the world. I hope you enjoy what I do, and can appreciate these animals for what they truly are.

Snakes
This is Kaa, he is an Abbotts Okettee Corn snake who is supposedly het. Stripe and het. Amel. He was my first snake and i got him November 2013. He is extremely active and never, i mean NEVER refuses a meal, he is definitely my most ferocious feeder with some unbelievable strikes. He inspired me and some people i know to get snakes after seeing what a lovely example of the species he is, i have never been bitten by him and he is extremely tame however he does have a tendency to poop on me...

This is Lelantos, however i prefer to call him Lee! He was my first Royal Python and my second snake. He is a Pastel who is currently just over a year old and was 1200 grams however has been a non feeder for almost a year. He never strikes at a meal, weird i know. However the majority of the time he feeds on a drop feed. He has stunning colours and patterns as shown in the picture to the right. I got him from Cardiff on Fathers Day so i suppose he is Welsh, but once again he is super friendly and tame and wouldn't hurt a fly... or a rat i suppose. I know he is definitely one of my favourite snakes in my collection.

Up next is Coco, she is my 1350 gram Pinstripe Royal Python who i got from Doncaster reptile show. The video of which you can see on my YouTube channel. She feeds relatively well striking i'd say 80% of the time, she is definitely not a picky feeder. She has really cool colours and patterns and is always active, usually from 5pm until 8am. She was my 3rd snake and i really like her i cannot wait until she is bigger and getting ready to breed she is a superb example of a Pinstripe.

Next from Cam's collection is Arya. She is a Spider Mojave female weighing in at around 200 grams. She was purchased from Day's Reptiles (www.DaysReptiles.co.uk) and is very pretty if i may say so myself. She feeds very well each week and is very active. She was named in reference to Game of Thrones, which is my favourite TV show. So i always like sitting down to watch an episode with her in my lap :) She can be quite jumpy sometimes so i try to handle her at least 5 minutes a day, so she can become more comfortable as when i bought her she was very shy. But overall a lovely snake. Unfortunately, her head wobble seems to be developing more and more with every week, it doesn't really effect her; however it is noticeable on feeding day.

Meet Rug! He is a Zebra Jungle Carpet Python and weighs around 350g. He is a lovely male, and has a nice temperament. He always feeds and loves climbing just like many other Carpet Pythons. His naming is quite obvious as he is a 'Carpet' Python, it was between rug and monty so...
He was purchased off of RFUK from a member called THELAWrence, and i have nothing but praise for him. I dont have any breeding plans for him as at the moment he is just a pet, and a very nice one at that. As time progressed, his feeding response got better and better, and is know one of my most reliable feeders. At about 4ft long he still has a lot of growing to do! |
Back to colubrids now, Mhysa was my 6th snake. An albino Nelsons milk snake, purchased from Doncaster reptile show, she has turned out to be one of my favourite purchases, all though i was quite reluctant about the purchase at first. Although it turned out to be a good endeavour. Once again, i have no foreseeable breeding plans for this girl, however only time will tell. If i was to breed any of my snakes she would be near the top, as i feel there is a significant gap in the market for this wonderful species. Never missing a feed, Mhysa is one a great feeder, feeding through sheds and any time of day. She will be a blast in the future!

Now this next guy is a snake I've wanted from the start! I mean before Kaa! However I didn't have enough trust in myself to look after one of these at the time. Meet Quincy! My Brazilian Rainbow Boa male. He has been with me since Doncaster Show November 2015 along with Peaches (See below) and was purchased from Moonlight boas. So far he has had two feeds with me and hasn't quite tamed down. I must say he is quite feisty and strikes at me. However I'm sure with some touch training and prolonged handling, he will soon settle down.

Also purchased from the Donny November show, was Peaches. My third Colubrid. Not much to see about this girl apart from she is an albino and loves to Hissss. She's taken one mouse for me so far and did so after giving me a good hood display, Peaches attempted to start eating it sideways however soon cottoned on to the correct way. I have also noticed how active she is patrolling her vivarium, or should i say 9 litre rub religiously every night. Can only be a positive i suppose...
Hopefully i will be able to breed hognoses into the future, although i may need to look into a bit more of their genetics first. |
